So what is The Greener View?

Simply put, The Greener View is a website all about sustainability.

By drawing on my own experiences with environmentalism and green living, I try to provide information and ideas to (hopefully!) help you live a little more sustainably too.

My goal is to show you some of the options, so that you can decide what sustainability looks like for you.

Topics include foodfashion, energy, travel and pretty much any other aspect of everyday life that you can think of.

So whether you’re a total eco-nut, or just looking to live a little greener, you’re in the right place.

About Me

As I said, my name is Dan, and I’m from Dublin, Ireland.
And I guess you could call me an environmentalist.
Although that sounds very serious.

I’m passionate about our natural environment and about protecting it. That said, for a long time I didn’t live particularly sustainably.

Not because I didn’t care, but because I didn’t really know what sustainable living was or what to do.

That all changed when, during college, I decided to try vegetarianism.

And while at first it wasn’t an environmentally motivated decision, vegetarianism is what kickstarted my interest in sustainability.

I started paying  more attention to  my food and where it was coming from. Soon I was doing the same with all of my shopping, and I began rethinking how my lifestyle was affecting the environment.

Being a student, I wasn’t too interested in fancy electric cars or solar panels. I was more interested in how your average person, with limited income, could learn to live a greener life.

And I found plenty of websites geared towards sustainability. But green living is slightly different for everyone, so I believe the more perspectives we have, the better.

I started The Greener View to share my thoughts on sustainability and to try and help others with similar goals.

I don’t pretend to be an expert. But I have experienced the ups and downs of this lifestyle. And I hope that by sharing my experience, I can make it a little easier for others to live more sustainably as well.
